It’s free stuff to cool kids. Kicking Television is a sampler bag filled with products, samples and information, and it is given to millennials.

The Bag

It’s a white, cotton tote bag that is slung over the shoulder. It’s gender-neutral, environmentally friendly and reusable. The unapologetic design gets the tick from millennials. The bag is desirable beyond distribution day.

Distribution

We choose particular live music events based on the popularity and credibility of performer. Capitalising on that post-show high, we distribute the bags to patrons leaving the event. Information on which venues will be hit is public and available to the demographic.

Limited amounts are distributed, meaning there are always people who will just miss out; building desirability and encouraging conversation, gloating and sharing.

Demographic

16 – 27 year olds, 54% males… This is a hard to reach market. A generation who aren’t watching commercial television and are savvy in their avoidance of traditional advertising. Kicking Television creates a rare opportunity to put your brand in the actual hands of these people.

Tickets to the events we target are in the vicinity of $60- $90 each, meaning this crowd is of means, passionate and independent. We’re targeting early adopters rather than the mainstream. So Client Liaison at The Enmore Theatre will be targeted over Adele at Acer Arena.

The reach from each bag is estimated at eight people (160,000 per month), dependent on what a client puts forward as the social media reach and reach through re-use is unlimited.

What can you put in the bag?

Be generous and imaginative. You want to give something for people to try, talk about, share, engage with rather than just being advertised to. Products, samples, stickers, magnets, discount cards are all good. Leaflets are possible but restricted.

Kicking Television runs monthly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. 20,000 bags in total are distributed across the five cities.
